The Unveiling of MADD Canada Ontario Memorial Monument

On Saturday, September 9, 2023, we proudly shared in a moment to celebrate a monumental achievement. Our team at Tacoma Engineers Inc. collaborated with Rutherford Contracting Ltd. in the design for MADD Canada’s new Ontario Memorial Monument, nestled in Brampton’s Chinguacousy Park.  This monument is engraved with the names of Ontarians who lost their lives in accidents caused by alcohol or drugs. Besides paying respects to innocent victims, it serves as a strong message to the public, showing the serious outcomes of driving under the influence and the critical need to always drive sober.

This stunning tribute, crafted with care and precision, features five steel box frames adorned with IPE board cladding. Each face bears the weight of engraved plaques, etching in stone the names of lives tragically lost to impairment-related crashes.

Our heartfelt gratitude extends to Rutherford Contracting Ltd. for their remarkable craftsmanship, design and construction. Thank you to our very own Nick Lawler, Maxime Cleroux, and Mike Rekker for their engineering brilliance. A team full of talent has turned this inspiring vision into a beautiful reality.
